About Me
Tricia P. Martland
For the past two decades, my work as a lawyer, professor, and mediator has been exclusively dedicated to helping families. This is also the reason I practice estate planning.
As an estate planning attorney, I focus on helping individuals and families make important decisions today to avoid unnecessary pain down the road. I help guide clients through the process of ensuring their loved ones are protected and their final wishes are carried out. To do this, I handle the preparation of wills, trusts, documents to appoint guardians of minor children as well as other documents that relate to incapacity planning and end-of-life decisions. I work hand-in-hand with clients to help them figure out what makes the most sense for themselves and their family given their goals and values. In the end, my hope for all of my clients is peace of mind knowing these decisions have been made and planned for – and their family is protected.

Tricia was awarded the Rhode Island Crime Victim Service Award in 2020 by the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General and Family Services of Rhode Island.
I live in Newport, Rhode Island with my husband Dave, our kids Lauren and Max, and our golden retriever, Summit.
When we are not enjoying the beauty of Newport, we can be found hiking or skiing the mountains of New Hampshire and exploring the outdoors.
